In 20 years a lot has changed in the digital signage world.
Back when datmedia was founded, we started selling advertising on the in-store radio system of our first major client: BIG W. With a small team of 2, we continued to expand by securing the rights to sell advertising on the in-store radio systems of some of Australia’s largest retailers, such as Woolworths, Coles, Kmart & Target.
We moved into point-of-sale (POS) screens when they were implemented in BIG W stores across Australia. The new system’s 15” POS screens were capable of displaying advertising messages on loop when the register was idle and during the transaction. We worked with BIG W to expand their in-store media offering so vendors could promote their products to shoppers both visually and audibly at the most important time of the decision-making process.
Big W was one of the first major retailers in Australia to really recognise the power of digital signage. Starting with one screen hung from the ceiling at the store entry, over the next 3 years they rolled signage systems into the various departments within the store creating arguably the largest digital signage network in Australia across their 180 stores, with the most number of endpoints per site.
Digital signage system technology continued to evolve and our services and solutions evolved along with it, giving businesses a powerful path-to-purchase messaging link. These new devices, touch screens, music systems and content solutions enabled us to deliver improved customer engagement and experience to our clients
As our team grew, we realised that many of the CMS (content management system) offerings available for multi-site campaigns weren’t quite hitting the mark. That’s why we decided to create our very own CMS. Laqorr is easy to use and allows control and customisation from anywhere via the cloud (our clients happen to love using it too).
Now with a local team of 11 digital signage lovers on board, we’re proud to work with Australia’s biggest brands to make their projects come to life.
